WILLIAM H. FUNDERBURKE
January 2, 2004 ~ HALLETTSVILLE - William H. "Bill" Funderburke, 72, of Hallettsville,
died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004. He was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wis., to the late
William Henry and Marjorie Crumb Funderburke.
He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, and was a life member of the
First Marine Division and Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Fox 27 Marine
Company, Vietnam Dog Handlers, Vietnam Veterans of America, VFW, American Legion,
Sons of Confederate Veterans, and Order of Confederate Rose. He was a member of St.
Peter Lutheran Church.
Survivors: wife, Nancy Gale Nolan Funderburke; daughters, Cindy Funderburke of Houston,
and Athena Rivera and Cheri Castilleja, both of Hallettsville; sons, William H. Funderburke V
of Houston and Daniel C. Funderburke of Austin; three grandchildren; and three great-grand
children. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem Cemetery, the Rev. Herb Beyer
