The notes and conjectures on this page focus on the descendants of Andrew Pee Sr. (Cumberland Co. to Bedford Co., PA 1790-1795) who married Hannah Turner and was the probable son of Abraham Pee (1742-1799) and the grandson of Jean Jacques del La Pie (circa 1710) and Marie Magalene de La Pie (circa 1718). French Huguenots being persecuted in France caused many to flee the country during the 1700s. There are numerous records in Lancaster Co., PA of their church attendance, residence, and land holdings as our line moved into Bedford County, PA and further westward.

For researching branches like our Pee family, this article published in the History of Pennsylvania Journals PSU.EDU and written by Dr. George G. Struble, “The French Element Among The Pennsylvania Germans” offers some remarkable information.
